A day in the life of a Volunteer
Every day is different so it is difficult to give you a typical timetable. However I will endeavour to do so.
A typical day will start with a hearty and healthy breakfast, which you will come to realise is the most important meal of the day. As a volunteer you will help to prepare this essential meal. There will usually be two or more volunteers doing this each day using a rota system. During breakfast we have a discussion to plan the day’s work.
After breakfast the real work begins on whichever current project we, as a foundation, are working on at the time.
At around midday there is a break for lunch and a short rest period.
Work begins again for the afternoon session until around four or five pm, or until there is no more light.
After we finish for the day we have the evenings free to shower and relax until dinner, which is around seven pm.
After dinner the cards come out for ‘Cuerenta’ the ever popular and very competitive Ecuadorian game.
The weekends are free days for you to catch up with your personal endevours.
